About Me

I started Nana’s Friends in 2024, after taking a break from a very demanding corporate career. Right now, I’m focused on what makes me truly happy. It turns out that the answer to that question is “spending a lot of time with animals.” It’s simple, but it works!

Mission & Values

Accessibility. Getting support to care for your pet should be within reach. I offer a sliding scale for all services to suit a range of lifestyles and needs.

Compassion. All living beings deserve love, consistency, and understanding. I take a very gentle and patient approach to training or navigating any behavioral concerns with your pet.

Inclusion. Everyone is welcome. I genuinely welcome pets (and their people!) of all different backgrounds, identities, abilities, family structures, and needs.

Professional Experience

I have intimately cared for pets my whole life (I cannot remember a time when I didn’t have animals in the house). All of them have been rescues, and all of them have been deeply loved.

In my previous life I had a successful career in senior management in a fast-paced technology industry. I am commitment-driven, an ample problem-solver, and excellent at organizing to ensure things get done. I am responsible, reliable, and dedicated. As a complement to my business skills, I am also a coach, yoga teacher, and I’m currently training to become a licensed massage therapist in Massachusetts.

I have a genuine love for animals. I am the person who has dog treats in their backpack in case I pass a dog who is allowed to have a treat while I say hello. I love to work with other people’s pets, and get to know their needs, routines, habits, and quirks. No two animals are alike!

My Pets

Currently, I have three wonderful furry creatures of my own:

Gremlin, a 7 year old long-haired rescue cat, with severe allergies and other ongoing medical conditions; his routines involve daily medication, a specialized diet, and injections – as well as frequent head pats, butt pats, and playtime with his favourite toys.

Thor, a 14 year old deer-head rescue chihuahua, with separation anxiety and some food aggression; his routines include daily walks, a ridiculous number of snuggles, and massages for his slightly arthritic hind legs.

Nana, a 12 year old apple-head rescue chihuahua, with late-stage Cushings disease; her routines include precise and consistent medication dosing, and very frequent potty breaks – as well as ample belly rubs and extra treats just because she’s so cute!
